A perfect Christmas present for Cheese lovers, from CheeseWorks, Cheltenham..

While reading the usual interesting Twitter posts from those I follow recently, I came across a wonderful idea for a perfect Christmas present, or just a gift for those who are lovers of all things Cheese anytime of the year.

I am personally a fan and subscriber to a wine club which provides me a couple of “random” bottles in my monthly box of surprises and when I read about the CheeseWorks club offer I felt it such a good idea I needed to put together a short blog to raise public awareness of this great idea.

The CheeseWorks in Cheltenham are offering membership to their cheese club. The club works by offering members a monthly home delivery service on the third Thursday of each month, where members can expect to receive a selection of the finest quality seasonal cheeses available.

When you receive your monthly produce, you will also find accompanying notes on the cheese which offers a flavour profile of the individual cheeses supplied and details of the provenance of the produce. In addition, what makes this idea even more attractive is the fact that someone has taken the time to do the research for you and provide cheese which is seasonal at the time of delivery throughout the year and cheese which is unlikely to be found in the local supermarket.

The CheeseWorks offers a large range of British and International Cheese

Prices for membership start at £115 for 3 months, moving on to £220 for 6 months and £430 for the full yearly membership. I think this is very reasonable for someone who really appreciates their cheese. If you are anything like me, and cannot resist stocking up on different cheeses when I visit my local deli, and rarely leave without spending a small fortune, then I am sure you will agree the cheese club idea is very attractive! The idea of getting my own monthly “bespoke” selection of something different excites me.

The CheeseWorks have been supplying the residents and restaurants of Cheltenham and the Cotswolds with cheese and a host of other goodies for years. They currently supply to a wide range of fine dining restaurants with their wholesale cheese including the two-Michelin starred Champignon Sauvage & Winteringham Fields, so I think it fair to say the quality of cheese you will receive from the club membership will be exceptionally high.

Of course there is much more available from the shop and some of this will be available for home delivery from the website The CheeseWorks Home

On the website you will find; Bread, Chocolate, Olive oil, Chutney and crackers, Hams and Salami, a range of Olives, Gift boxes and hampers and details of cheese related events and tastings. Of course the wholesale cheese option maybe of interest to those restaurant and Chef followers of my blog.

If you are an existing cheese club member or visit this quaint little shop, let me know what you think, I would love to hear your feedback and share it with others.

Happy eating!
